La carte PCIUSB3S4 à 4 ports PCI vers USB 3.0 permet aux emplacements PCI hérités de prendre en charge la norme SuperSpeed USB 3.0, qui est capable de débits de transfert de données allant jusqu'à 5 Gbps. L'utilisation de périphériques USB 3.0 avec cette carte augmentera les taux de transfert de données avec jusqu'à 1,3 Gbps de bande passante disponible (limite du bus PCI) - ce qui fait plus que doubler les performances par rapport à une connexion USB 2.0.
Cet adaptateur USB 3.0 polyvalent comprend un connecteur d'alimentation SATA en option qui permet à chaque port USB de fournir jusqu'à 900mA d'alimentation aux périphériques USB 3.0, ce qui convient même aux appareils les plus gourmands en énergie.
Cette carte est une solution parfaite pour les anciens systèmes basés sur PCI ou les ordinateurs qui ne disposent plus que d'emplacements d'extension PCI, car elle permet à ces systèmes de rester pertinents et à jour avec la dernière technologie USB. La carte est également rétrocompatible avec les périphériques USB 2.0 et 1.x, de sorte qu'elle fonctionnera non seulement avec tous les futurs périphériques USB 3.0, mais prendra également en charge les périphériques plus anciens.
