La carte PCIUSB3S22 à 2 ports PCI vers USB 3.0 vous permet de connecter des périphériques USB 3.0 à un PC via un bus hôte PCI existant, ce qui double les vitesses de transfert de données lors de l'utilisation de périphériques USB 3.0 que ce qui serait possible avec une connexion hôte USB 2.0 - jusqu'à 1,3 Gbps (limite du bus PCI).
La carte est dotée d'une connexion d'alimentation SATA en option, qui permet à chaque port de fournir jusqu'à 900 mA d'alimentation aux périphériques alimentés par le bus USB 3.0.
En prenant en charge une connexion hôte héritée (PCI), la carte ajoute une connectivité périphérique actualisée, sans avoir à passer à une carte mère équipée de PCI ou à compter sur la rétrocompatibilité des périphériques USB 3.0.
